What the HK is on Viki's Needles Today?

The biggest, most exciting thing I'm knitting right now is the new HK Mystery Sock by Lisa Stichweh along with the HK Ravelry group. So far clue #2 of 5 has been released and the sock is looking fantastic. It is a beautiful combination of cables and lace. It looks complicated, but the with excellent charts, my stash of highlighters and taking it one line at a time it is really quite fun. I think these may turn out to be my showiest pair of socks yet.

I'm knitting mine in Artisan sock in Mango Smoothie. If you check out the thread on Ravelry you can see other examples of the sock in Artisan, Piquant and Entice in several different colours.

My gloves from the previous KAL (beading) in Surf are languishing in my WIP pile. They just can't get a break. I had to "borrow" the needles from the gloves to work on the Mystery Sock, so no progress can be made. Is it possible that I need more needles? No matter how many needles I purchase, I never seem to have enough.

Previously, I mentioned a scarf that had been hibernating in my WIP for a very long time. Well, with the start of the new year a clean up was in order, and while I loved the colours and the pattern I hadn't touched it in over a year and it was only three inches long. So off to the frog pond it went. The balls of Red Carpet and a Rogue Brown have returned to the stash but maybe not for long. I keep eyeing the Red Carpet and trying to figure out what it wants to be. Maybe next post there will be a new red project to show!

Clue #3 for the Mystery Sock will be released Friday night around midnight EST. I know what I'll be doing this weekend!
